Tuatara takes close to 10 seconds to accelerate from 250mph to 300mph. It seems to be impossible for the given specs.

The 250mph to 300mph acceleration of the SSC is unbelievable (aka fake). If the SSC could accelerate like that at those speeds, it would be an even bigger accomplishment than going above 300 mph.

Even when the Bugatti hit records, at the top end, those last few mph were herd to get, the numbers ticking up very slowly, even with 1300+ hp. This in-car vid shows the mph clicking up fast through 320s. That would indicate the car has even more to give. At only 1k hp, there’s not enough to push through. Incremental more speed requires exponentially more power, especially at these speeds when the air in front is literally compressed to same density as peanut butter.

1750HP, 0.279 drag coefficient and incredibly low frontal area (which makes it even more aerodynamic) is plenty to achieve 330mph with power to spare. Bugatti weighs as much as a fucking pig, has much larger frontal area and has much worse drag coefficient so of course it's gonna accelerate like a snail.

His body language, speech and overall presentation improved so much from his earlier videos.

Dan Smulders actually, they widened it and smoothed out turns- using dynamite to bring down cliff sides . Again: I drive on this highway. It has drastically changed. I’m not sure if this has affected the comparison- just that it’s a distinct possibility that I think is being overlooked.

Dan Smulders He’s using the older version still on google maps to do his measurements. Next time I’m on that highway I will see if those distances are still the same, they very well could be. But elevational changes can change distance without changing landmarks necessarily, even appearing to show the same road landmarks that might be a little different. Again, I’m not claiming this is true, just that it is entirely possible.
