Vanessa has more than just burgle implications. She has that tactical rogue vibe to her. Let’s say your opponent plays a fireball. You can play it back. Let’s say your opponent plays Tickatus.. you can tickatus them back. I love the tactical aspect behind her. She’s amazing and can fit in a lot of decks. Makes your opponent think. Comboing a 2 mana card is super easy. Rogue is losing a lot of things that make it what it is... eviscerate is gone, sap is gone, questing is gone.

Warlock Card. Just bounce it back with the Brewmaster. I mean, you could discard two minions and you can prevent them from gettin it back. I think with tickatus and stuff the disruptive gameplan could work

Imo the best way to fix Menagerie Warden is to make it's effect "Summon a random friendly beast." and make the cost 4 instead. That makes it far more playable but still requires a beast to either somehow survived or played as a combo with this. 5 is just way to steep to be useful, and not being able to choose what you copy can make it less of a 'win more card' and just a swing/tempo play since if you have multiple beasts you don't get to choose what gets copied.

vanessa sucks imo, she would be much better if you could discover a card opponent played, or just add all the cards your opponent played like murozond does

I think Vanessa doesn't have to be a high roll card, she could just be used to get a good card instead of a great just to keep momentum such as an aggro or control card

The game already has enough inconsistencies with its verbiage on its own. Please don't change the reading of text on a card from how it appears.

few questions i would like to know.... Does Spell Damage affect spell typed spell..... Does Novice Zapper affect Lightning Storm??? or will Spell Damage only affect the spell that don't have a spell type?? What happens to Vanessa VanCleef (and other new cards) when Year of the Gryphon ends?? If she rotates from the Core Set, will she go to wild, or just be removed from the game??

I think Regis doesn't realize that Samuro is a neutral card and not only warrior's. Something he said in a video before as well, suggesting Samuro might pop up in a warrior deck here and there. And now saying Runthak and Samuro might "be a little package you toss into warrior". Like sure, maybe warrior has used rush minions more often than other classes but it's not class specific.

I don’t think Lightning Storm is 2 Stars. The original was 2 Stars if I had to rate it, the new version is 3 Stars, way more usable as of deck building for control because of consistency

I don’t see myself playing Vanessa VanCleef. I mean, I mostly play wild, and she doesn’t deal with weapons and she’s even, so she doesn’t fit into either good rogue deck there and in standard I can’t see a place for her in anything that currently exists. Lightning storm looks like it’s going to be pissing me off a lot the next year.

How is it a nerf?

Very nice analysis Regis. I have a different opinion about Fellsoul Jailer however and I wonder what you'd say about it. I think Jailer will be used with Transform effect such as the Evolve Lacky or Shadowstep Effect like Brewmasters to discard multilple cards forever. You could easily Discount Demons mana cost to be able to Discard a card while playing Fellsoul Jailer then Brewmaster it back and play it again. Remember how many times Gnomeferatu ended a game by discarding ONE card from deck? I think not only Fellsoul Jailer will be handfull many times to discard 1 of 4 C'thun parts, but also he could leave the opponent with an empty hand. I wonder how it will turn out! :D

@david rumrill On ladder in standard currently there are tons of Il'gynothe OTK lifesteal decks that keep Il'gynoth in hand all game untill they got enough dmg to OTK. I take a discard card that targets Minions specificly with pleasure :D

It is hard to say this will be the case, at least in standard where regis was talking from. Lackeys are rotating out with descent of dragons and with the new core set, who knows if we are still gonna have pandas. Though in wild, seems like it will be interesting to see. On top of that, it only discards minions, so it can't discard c'thun pieces, only c'thun itself.

The spell class seems like a not fun addition, I dont get how it adds anything to the game.

felsoul jailer will be nice on self-bounce if it still exists. it might delay combos otherwise and sometimes that is enough.

I wish Blizzard was at all careful ever about introducing completely overpowered 1-drops. I can't spend money on another expansion just to not be able to play any of the really cool 7+ cost cards because most games are over on turn 6. With no nerfs on the horizon, it's a matter of "can any of these cards beat tempo demon hunter?" and if they can't they won't be played and if they can then god help a mid-range or control deck.

Overlord Runthak will be in (almost, I do love my pure paladin decks) each and every one of my paladin/warrior decks going forward

Can't do it on curve, but Landslide is crazy strong with spell damage, and they're both so efficient, that's great

I think it goes away 1 day before the expansion release but im not sure.

I wonder since they’re Redoing cards if they’re going to add the elemental tag to mans wurm because it doesn’t make sense that nearly any other creature in the game that has mana in it has an elemental tag to it except for mana wurm and that would probably go along way to fixing the card.

Mana Wyrms are actually beasts in wow. My main character is a blood elf and mana wyrms are all over silver moon city. They’re beasts. They can be tamed by hunters whereas elementals cannot. Fun fact. Also mana wyrm is rotating

Felsoul Jailer isn’t a good card against aggro? Cause you makes them lose a card which is HUGE for aggro cause it make them run out of gas faster and if they really need the card they would have to lose a ton of resources in a 4/6.

I think & hope the core set will better balance the game. But I can see issues arising from spell tags with synergy of Thief rogue, and other classes. Bru'Kan and the neutral minion that buffs a minions HP when you play a holy spells is an indicitor that this is the direction they are taking the game. Yes it will better balance the game but it's most likely going to effect stealing cards and deck of lunacy Which some people find fun.
